Gold Loaf Cake

1/2 cup butter
1 cup fine granulated sugar
7 egg yolks
1/2 cup milk
1 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla

Beat butter and sugar until creamy; add the egg yolks beaten until thick and then put in the milk. Sift the flour, salt, baking powder twice and add to the other ingredients with the vanilla. Beat well and pour into a pan with a loose bottom or removable sides. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.
