Company Cornbread

1 cup stone ground cornmeal
1 cup wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 1/3 cup milk

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees with an 8 inch cast iron skillet inside. Once the oven is ready, add dry ingredients to a mixing bowl. Mix in the egg and milk. Pour batter into skillet and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
